The diverse topography of the region is exemplified by Nubra Valley, at a short distance from the valley covered with high snow-clad mountains one can witness a vast desert, called Hunder. This place offers great opportunity to explore the exceptional beauty of Nubra while riding a Bactrian camel.

3) Camping Camping is an important part of mountain climbing and trekking and it is gradually growing in a form of a key tourist activity. Another interesting activity offered is yak safari in Ladakh. Yaks are major attraction here as these animals can only be found in Ladakh region in India. Thus, a yak safari is a unique experience in Ladakh. Another much sought after activity is jeep safari in Ladakh. It is not only a cheap and convenient method of travelling through the length and breadth of Ladakh, but it is also one of the most exciting voyages one can experience here. The most popular jeep safari routes in Ladakh are Leh-Manali and Leh-Padum.
